DREADFUL PLEASURES #12. 1997

CRAZY BEWIGGED LADY READING A MAGAZINE.

From Seven Blood Stained Orchids.

WANK-A-THON NO. 1 - Huckle Murry

Front and inside cover. I dig Huckle’s style. I would post a link to where you can buy this zine, but I can’t find it. I probably have the info at work if anyone is interested.

"The World’s Newest Photos" by Huckle Murry.

FUCK MAGAZINE No. 11, 1997.

This is easily the most offensive piece of filth I have ever seen. Publisher Dr. Randall Phillip, shit out this zine in the 90s. This is the only issue in my collection and it’s hard to find any information about the publishing history or how many issues are in existence, but believe me having a single issue in my collection is enough.

You have to wonder if he published this for shock value, but a little research  leads me to believe he just hates everything and everyone. The redeeming value is that nobody is spared, though hateful as it is.  Racist, homophobic—- you can’t even simply call him misogynistic because he hates everyone. A couple articles in this issue, “Brain Damaged Retard”, “Shit From the Womb”, “Kike Faggot Confesses to Pervert’s Murder” and many other unmentionables. The illustrations are as offensive as the thoughts behind the pictures.

THE TAXALI 300. Catalogue Back Cover.

Magic Pony publication, a Narwhal Arts Project.

DREADFUL PLEASURES, #11.

One of my favorite exploitation film zines from the 90s. I’m not sure when publisher Mike Accomando quit it, but he’s always got cool stuff for sale on Ebay.

JANUARY FEBRUARY 2011. Craig Atkinson. Edition of 100. 5.5” x 8”, 36pp

PLUS ONE, 2010. Joakim Ojanen, zine. Edition of 100. 32pp 3.5”x5.25”

Another cool little zine from Joakim Ojanen, this one filled with little smoking, drinking and cavorting monster-types looking for trouble.

INTERPLANETARY TRAVEL. Sebastian Jefford, zine. Edition of 35. 16pp 5.5”x8”

I dig this guy’s style and vision.

LIMO ZINE. Joakim Ojanen, 2010. Edition of 100.

Cool accordion style illustration zine.

VIDEO WATCHDOG, Oct. 1992.

Special Serial Killers Issue! With awesome Manhunter cover. I’ve always been a big fan of the Tooth Fairy’s look and it’s probably the reason I bought this zine when it came out.

BEEFCAKE FOR GIRLS.

MR. UNIVERSE Magazine.

VULGAR PICTURES by Seth Malice, 1990.
8pg zine, 5.5”X4.25”

BIL KEANE, the guy that did Family Circus for soooo long died the other day and I got to thinking about how, as a kid, I loved his comic strip.

My grandmother was dying of cancer and was staying in a bleachy-smelling facility. On visits I would sometimes go into this cozy family visiting room and one day I was thrilled to find a set of hand made scrapbooks of Family Circus cartoons. Someone had lovingly taped hundreds and hundreds of these strips, into these little scrapbooks. I felt privileged to handle them because so much love and attention went into these books.

Then one day I saw a strip that showed two of the little kids looking up at a crescent moon and one of the kids saying, “That’s God’s fingernail.”.  I”m not sure if Bil Keane turned super Christian on that day or if that’s just when I first noticed it, but it pissed me off on such a deep level—even as a child.  After that I didn’t like Family Circus.

SANTO STREET Number 9. April, 1996.
