BRAND X #1

Risograph Printed on newsprint by Tiny Splendor in Los Angeles.
Edition of 100

ORDER HERE!

I’m psyched to finally release a beautifully printed zine filled with some of the handmade collages and ideas that I’ve been working on for the past year. A few things I am obsessed with are fear tactic marketing, consumption, corruption in high places and the smoke and mirror culture that we live in…and COOL GRAPHICS, so take a look and grab one while you can.

About the printing: The lovely folks at Tiny Splendor Press were indeed collaborators in the production of this art zine. Their risograph printing process, creative binding and our decision to use newsprint not only gives Brand X a unique one-of-a-kind quality and handmade look and feel, but plays to the materials used in each of the individual collages represented in the book.

Baltimore prints available!

SEARS, Baltimore, MD.

I found this old wedding planner today and was surprised to see this illustration of a glorious vision of what was once an epic Sears located at the corner of North Avenue and Harford Rd.  Anyone living in Baltimore knows that this is now a place you try not to look at as you drive by…a courthouse with the same amount of people out front, but all of them waiting for the bus or on the verge of getting convicted for some shit they did right here in Baltimore.

Does anyone know what years the Sears was at this location?

Crown Food Stores.

The Jan. 5, 1950 edition of the Baltimore News-Post gave a good amount of space  to announce that Mrs. Mary Pastore was awarded $25 for her ‘Stuffed Lasagni’ recipe which she says to add 1/4 lb of lard to the boiling water before you put in the ‘lasagni’.   Also of note, on the same page, a headline tells us, “Variety Added To Lima Beans With Little Effort”.
